Jonty Rhodes joins Pakistan as fielding coach!

Jonty Rhodes, former test cricketer of South Africa, who is well known for his superb fielding has arrived Pakistan. He has been a very important part of his team as a fielder and a middle order batsman. He paved the way to win for his team with his fielding on many occassions. He was always active and ready to dive to stop runs or take a catch at Guly and Point positions. He alone was able to stop 30-40 runs in a ODI and converted half chances into a break-through for his team.

Rhodes will be in Pakistan for two weeks and during his stay here he will be training both the senior and junior teams. He is paid fourteen thousand USD ($ 14,000) for his services.

In a press briefing he said that it is never possible to remove all the flaws in fielding overnight. I will try my best to make Pakistanis familiar with fielding techniques. He further added that Pakistani playerd have improved their fitness level a lot under coaching of Bob Woolmer and their performance is also consistent. I ‘ll teach them how to dive and stop the ball and other fielding tips and tricks.

37 years old Jonty Rhodes has played 52 test matches and 245 One day Internationals from South Africa in his carrier. He is an icon in cricket world as a fielder. He’ll start his duty from Monday in Lahore.

He said that most of the fielders avoid diving in sub-continent because grounds are hard here. Talking about upcoming tour of Pakistan to England, he said that Pakistani team is favourite for the series and if they improve their fielding they would constitute an invincible side.
